The Stadium School is the progenitor of the Small Schools Initiative Movement in Baltimore City and the first school in Baltimore designed and established by parents and teachers. Today, we continue this tradition of being a child-centered, parent collaboration, and teacher-directed school. There is no one more important to the school's vision, purpose, and mission than the child and the parent. Every initiative, whether researched-data-driven, or via epiphany is for the children and tailored for their specific talents and gifts. Thus students are exposed to a wide range of academia and enrichment activities. James Washington, a renowned artist once spoke before a large contingent of professor at a University in Settle. His words are profound and echo the philosophy of education here at TSS. “ … because you are professor and doctors you think your mission is to pass on some great knowledge to this generation. Your mission is rather, if you choose to accept it, is not to pass on anything, but to help these students find their way.” This pamphlet reflects how student and parents, work with teachers, staff members and administrators to find their way.
Every student who attends TSS comes with specific talents and gifts, which need to be nurtured, cultivated, and developed. Our wide range of programs and educational services will afford students' the opportunity to explore careers during their elementary and middle school years, while at the same time receiving educational guidance, support, and structure. Consequently, the school remains steadfast on the following foci:
It is my pleasure and on the behalf the school's community to offering you a glimpse into The Stadium School, its professional learning community, its programs/services, and its committed followers.
