The vision of The Stadium School is to be a professional learning center that seeks to educate students, develop its personnel, and provide opportunities for parents to be part of their child’s education. We are all life long learners who positively impact our environment, and are prepared for the challenges of the 21st century.

The Stadium School began in 1994. It is the first public school designed and operated in collaboration with teachers and parents. Currently TSS serves approximately 200 students and serves grades five through eight. The school began as an experiment, when teachers and parents petitioned the Baltimore City Board of Commissioners requesting an opportunity to create a new community school with the autonomy to write its own curriculum and to establish its own governance model. In exchange, the school would be required to meet or exceed both city and state standards. |

| There are three essential partners in the educational process: the student (child), the parent(s) / guardian(s), and the teacher. These partners must be thoroughly empowered to ensure effective learning and to build a successful learning community. Each partner must hear (listen) to the voice of the other, e.g., | ||
Every student who attends TSS will experience two types of course work: core and project. Core classes are made-up of the traditional model of school, where every student will have an English, Science, and Mathematics. Students at TSS are assigned to core classes 4 days a week. Project Classes are one of the hallmarks of TSS. For one day a week students class work and learning takes place outside of the classroom. At the beginning of the school year, every student (Middle School only!) selects a project class based on their tailored educational, social, and spiritual needs. In these projects, students learn an array of skills: writing grants, creating a budget on Excel, developing partnerships with civic groups, and service learning skill, growing vegetables and flowers in the community garden. Today, TSS has thirteen specifically designed project groups:
