Uniform Guidelines

We hope you all have had a chance to see the great new uniform shirts for the 2004-2005 school year.  These shirts are part of a mandatory uniform.  The sixth through seventh graders are to wear yellow shirts with black khaki pants or black skirts, no mini skirts or skirts with inappropriate slits.  The fourth-fifth and eighth graders wear the same pants or skirts with a white uniform shirt. The shirts are available for purchase at the office for $15.00. Please mark your shirts with your initials on the tag before the first day of school so they cannot be misplaced.

It is our expectation that every student will be in uniform every day. If a student arrives at his or her first period class out of uniform, that student will be sent to administrator(s) for remediation.  The suggestion for a mandatory uniform policy is parent generated.  We want the focus of this school to be a healthy and nurturing learning environment, one not contaminated by scantily clad boys and girls who are distracted by members of the opposite sex or by competition over name brand shirts. Your education is our primary concern, and we will do whatever we can to support that concern.

The Stadium School has had a uniform policy for several years, but this year we are making it easier to ensure compliance by providing shirts at a reasonable cost.  It is suggested that each student have a change of clothes in the locker for sports, outside play on rainy days and for project days for the classes who will be working in the garden, etc.

Please note, there is an incentive policy for the advisory whose students comply with the uniform policy for an extended time period – i.e. an entire month. Therefore, it is in the interest of every student to help his or her classmates follow the uniform guidelines.  We suggest that in the evening each student make sure that he or she has a clean uniform shirt and pants or skirt ready for the next morning.
