The Stadium School (TSS) is accepting applications for grades 6 through 8. Please note that 7th and 8th grade spaces are limited.
The Stadium School began in 1994 as an experiment, when teachers and parents petitioned the Baltimore City Board of Commissioners requesting an opportunity to create a new community school with the autonomy to write its own curriculum and to establish its own governance model. Today, The Stadium School is an Area 1 school and one of BCPSSs highest performing school: The Stadium School met all proficiency requirements or Annual Measurable Objectives in each sub group for the 2004 - 2005 school year as measured by the Maryland State Assessment.
The foci for TSS curriculum are to be at the forefront of this school improvement plan, as well as, staff development meetings, curricula session, collaboration, evaluation, and redesign.
We expect:
1. Students who attend TSS must meet and exceed state and city standards.
2. Students who attend TSS must impact the community.
3. Teacher curriculum planning will show connections between subject areas, project
development, and grade levels.
4. Students who attend TSS should enjoy and feel good about what they are doing.
70% percent of TSS teacher considered Highly Qualified Teachers under the guidelines specified in the new law No Child left Behind. Student to teacher ratio is 1-15. The Stadium School has a maximum class size of 22 students.
